About Us

Wethersfield Community Television, Inc. (WCTV) is a Public, Educational and Governmental (PEGA) Access channel and a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization located in the Wethersfield, CT.  WCTV was founded in 1984 and was funded by Cox Communications, in Manchester, as part of their PEGA agreement with the Town of Wethersfield. It originally began as a shared channel with Newington and Rocky Hill and originally housed in the basement of the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center then moved in 1994 to the Olsen House at 105 March Street. Finally, in 2004, WCTV landed at its final destination in The Pitkin Community Center.

WCTV is committed to providing opportunities for community expression on issues and topics that affect the lives of the residents of the Town of Wethersfield. The station is run by volunteers and opportunities are always available for new people to host, produce or learn to run the camera equipment in the studio or the field. The goal is to educate the community on how to properly and effectively use professional broadcast equipment and produce shows. You produce it, we air it!

WCTV facilities and equipment are provided free of charge for the use by Wethersfield residents to produce and air non-commercial Public Access programs.  All programs produced using the facilities and equipment must be aired on Channel 14.  All shows are uploaded to all our main social media platforms. WCTV reserves the right to ask for proof of residency before any studio, equipment usage or editing time is booked. We are governed by a Board of Directors.
