We wish a fond farewell to James Melvin our summer 2024 intern as he heads back to college at Iona University to complete his senior year in Media and Strategic Communications with a minor in Political Science. We enjoyed having James on our team and we all gained new and enhanced knowledge from each other and are grateful to provide this opportunity. Thank you, James, and good luck on your senior year!

We are celebrating 40 years of broadcasting! Since 1984, Wethersfield Community Television, Inc. (WCTV) has been operating as the community television station for the Town of Wethersfield solely through volunteer support.

Our facility offers a three-camera in-studio setup, control room, and two non-linear editing bays. Training and education is available upon request. Wethersfield  Community Television via Cox channel 14 has recurring local programs on various topics produced by town residents. The station is available for use by Wethersfield town residents at no cost.

Our volunteer staff will train individuals on the techniques of broadcasting including the equipment needed to create and produce your their own shows. All shows are aired on-demand via our website and YouTube as well Cox channel 14.

You produce it. We air it!

Types of content include high school sporting events, around-town, musicians and bands, cooking, book clubs, community activities and volunteer created content. We have on-air live streaming, on-demand programming, pod casts, and our bulletin board of local events.

What We Do

Pre-Production

WCTV is the vessel for those in the community of Wethersfield to produce, direct, film, and/or host a show. We provide the equipment and studio resources to accomplish public access broadcasting to Wethersfield residents. Volunteers must have working knowledge of technical equipment or have someone that does in order to broadcast in the studio.

Production

Although we are not the producers of any of the shows aired on our channel or social media sites, we are a resource for those interested in pursuing their interest  of creating, hosting, directing, or producing a show. Our facility offers a three-camera in-studio setup, control room, and two non-linear editing bays. Training and education is available upon request. You produce it, we will air it!

Post-Production

Our editing software allows the opportunity to adjust segments of a taped show before it airs on-demand via our website and social media sites. WCTV works in a collaborative environment to help resident volunteers to get their shows on-air. All shows are aired based on schedule availability.
